Community & Influencer Manager

Sophie heads up all things Social and Influencer at borne. Having trained in Fashion Promotion she began her career in journalism before moving to PR, and although experienced in traditional comms it is her passion for social that has shaped her career ever since. She designs, implements and manage both earned and paid campaigns, manages social communities for a host of clients, and creates editorial and visual content for social. And she’s pretty big on insta.

Steve has been developing brands and running campaigns for 15 years. Returning to his native Norfolk after delivering campaigns across Asia-Pacific for clients like Knight Frank, CBRE and Savills. Beyond the sector Steve has delivered multi-channel and digital work for the NSPCC, RSPCA and Vanquis Bank. What Steve doesn’t know about print isn’t worth the Fedrigoni tintoretto stock it’s pressed on.

Emilie has been at borne since day one – or at least day two or three. She started her career client-side, running campaigns at the RAC and NHS, before moving agency side seven years ago. Emilie draws on experience from managing multi-faceted projects and campaigns for a diverse range of clients, including Aspall, UK Active, Chilango and Asda, and is certified by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Joe began his career as a graduate at Wieden & Kennedy in London, learning the ropes on ATL and digital campaigns for Honda, Nike and Arla. After a two-year stint running global work at AMV/BBDO, Joe made the unusual move media-side to head-up Adidas’ pan-European digital activation at Carat. He joined the family at borne at the beginning of 2018 returning to creative agency life, and indeed, to Suffolk life – he is, unfortunately, from Ipswich.

Fay heads up a number of accounts at borne, and her career is best explained over a pint - but in a nutshell over the last decade Fay has moved across both creative and account management roles both in-house and now agency-side with us. She cut her marketing teeth for NUA over the past eight years, but is also an experienced copywriter, editor and was assistant-director on Alan Partridge. Ah Hah.

Craig runs the studio at borne and is pure 100% home-grown talent. Since leaving NUA 10 years ago he has plied his trade with a range of clients including Warner Bros, Savills and AST group, across branding, packaging, integrated advertising and digital projects. As a maker he has contributed to the remarkable Patterns of Play and he’s also a semi-professional brewer, founder of the Norwich Craft Beer Week.

Digital

Dave leads digital development and production at borne. He started his career in the frozen north at agencies in Newcastle, then returning to his native Norfolk and founding his own digital shop, Horatio Creative, before joining the fold at borne. Dave has built sites and digital tools for both national and international clients including Paddypower, Pure Fitness and Break and is a co-founder of the Norfolk Tweet Up, a community of local devs and digital businesses.

Strategy

Chris made a break for it last year in search of the good life. He started his career at global agency TBWA/London, where he cut his strategic teeth delivering work for the likes of Nissan, Pernod Ricard and Adidas. He joined borne after a five-year stint at Mother, the UK’s largest independent agency, where he led strategy on award-winning campaigns for Diageo, Boots, Stella Artois and the United Nations, and picked up a coveted APG award for his strategic work on Baileys.

Holly is another prodigal Norwich native returned from the big smoke. She started her career 10 years ago at M&C Saatchi in Soho, working as an Account Director before sidestepping into strategic planning. She has delivered integrated and above the line campaigns at both a national and international level, across a range of clients including Direct Line, RBS and Coutts.

His experience ranges from research and strategy to experiential activation and creative technology. Chris joins borne from Foolproof, where he led delivery on UX design and development projects for Porsche, Suzuki, Shell and Aviva.

Jonny Gibson

Creative

Jonny is a self-taught designer with over 10 years experience, working across agencies in London and his native Brighton. His work spans a huge range of applications from illustration and animation, to UX and digital product design. He’s worked with an equally vast spread of clients such as Costa, Specsavers, Arsenal FC and FOX to name a few. In his spare time Jonny designs typefaces, is a certified member of the Typographic Circle, creates brightly coloured t-shirts and loves the NBA.

Founder

Carole founded borne to make more space for her two great loves – great creative work, and her daughters, Martha and Elena. Carole has gone from apprentice to managing director, leading and delivering a vast range of projects for a host of national and international clients, including Aviva and Barclays. She is a qualified fundraiser with considerable experience in the charity sector. Carole oversees all work at borne and leads the day-to-day running of the agency.

Josh Gowen

Creative

Josh grew up on the Norfolk coast before studying at Falmouth and joining CHI (now The & Partnership) where he produced work for The Times and The Sunday Times. He moved to the legendary BBH to design campaigns for British Airways and Audi, before being poached by data visualisation shop Signal Noise, creating complex data visualisations for the likes of UBS, Mars and WIRED. He’s been part of the family at borne ever since he made the very wise decision to run on home.

Sinead Birmingham

Sinead trained at UCA before stints at Big Fish, Lippincott, Signal Noise and social start-up BetaPond, working on brands like Tyrells, Dorset Cereals, Orange and Mars. She took up the reins as global brand guardian for Burberry at Tag Worldwide before settling at Ink, designing experiential and retail activations for Adidas, McLaren and T2, and then finally joining the borne family in 2018. Her love for local news has been consistent throughout this.

We draw on the incredible talents of our extended family to help us deliver the best possible creative outcomes for our clients. And as more of us pack our bags in the big smoke and head home to the countryside, the family only gets bigger.
